We were so excited about getting MentorCONNECT up and running, and then by the amazing growth we have experienced, that at first we didn't quite realize the significance of the word "online" in our mission statement.

The Tradition of Internet-Based Support Sites
In the past, internet-based eating disorders recovery support sites have been considered to be highly unsafe places for sufferers to venture. Unmonitored or loosely attended to, such sites have (whether they intended to or not) tended to foster the exact opposite of what new visitors were seeking - a safe, private, confidential, supportive PRO-recovery home on the web!

The Next Generation of Internet Support
MentorCONNECT exists to prove that it IS possible to create just such a positive, safe, private, confidential, pro-recovery space online. The power of the world wide web has in the past been part of the problem. Today, MentorCONNECT is here to say it can also be part of the solution.
